Early or delayed time-restricted feeding prevents metabolic impact of obesity in mice

چکیده

Time-restricted feeding (TRF) initiated early during the dark phase prevents metabolic consequences of a high-fat diet in rodent models. However, delaying initiation TRF, akin to breakfast skipping humans, is unclear. We assigned 8-week-old male C57BL/6J mice ( n = 192) chow or ad libitum (AL) for 4 weeks, before randomization continue AL 10 h at lights off (TRFe) 4-h after (TRFd) further 8 weeks. Oral glucose tolerance tests (1 g/kg), monitoring and body composition by echoMRI were performed, tissues collected six time points. TRF reduced weight fat mass vs AL, with greater reduction TRFe TRFd. improved protected from diet-induced hepatosteatosis no difference between increased amplitude Bmal1 , Cry1 Per2 Nampt Nocturnin mRNA levels liver. A delay Reverb? NAD, Sirt1 was observed Thus, limited benefit induced hepatic clock, but health. Allowing more flexibility when may increase translational potential this dietary approach humans.

Time-restricted feeding without reducing caloric intake prevents metabolic diseases in mice fed a high-fat diet.

While diet-induced obesity has been exclusively attributed to increased caloric intake from fat, animals fed a high-fat diet (HFD) ad libitum (ad lib) eat frequently throughout day and night, disrupting the normal feeding cycle. To test whether obesity and metabolic diseases result from HFD or disruption of metabolic cycles, we subjected mice to either ad lib or time-restricted feeding (tRF) of...

Women’s satisfaction in early versus delayed postcaesarean feeding: A one-blind randomized controlled trial study

Background: The early postoperative feeding after caesarean section (C- section) has remained controversial. This study was designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of early versus delayed postcaesarean section oral feeding regarding gastrointestinal complications and patients postoperative satisfaction after C- section. Methods: This clinical trial study was conducted on 200 p...

Impact of Time-Restricted Feeding and Dawn-to-Sunset Fasting on Circadian Rhythm, Obesity, Metabolic Syndrome, and Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease

Obesity now affects millions of people and places them at risk of developing metabolic syndrome, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and even hepatocellular carcinoma. This rapidly emerging epidemic has led to a search for cost-effective methods to prevent the metabolic syndrome and NAFLD as well as the progression of NAFLD to cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. In murine models, time...

Anticonvulsant Effect of Time-Restricted Feeding in a Pilocarpine-Induced Seizure Model: Metabolic and Epigenetic Implications

A new generation of antiepileptic drugs has emerged; however, one-third of epilepsy patients do not properly respond to pharmacological treatments. The purpose of the present study was to investigate whether time-restricted feeding (TRF) has an anticonvulsant effect and whether this restrictive diet promotes changes in energy metabolism and epigenetic modifications in a pilocarpine-induced seiz...

Dietary supplementation of chinese ginseng prevents obesity and metabolic syndrome in high-fat diet-fed mice.

Obesity and diabetes are growing health problems worldwide. In this study, dietary provision of Chinese ginseng (0.5 g/kg diet) prevented body weight gain in high-fat (HF) diet-fed mice. Dietary ginseng supplementation reduced body fat mass gain, improved glucose tolerance and whole body insulin sensitivity, and prevented hypertension in HF diet-induced obese mice. Ginseng consumption led to re...
